Lent Week 4 Day 24

My reading today in the Mosaic Bible is speaking about truth. He is telling the christian to search for truth, hear truth, learn truth, love truth, speak the truth, hold the truth, defend the truth til death.

I wasn’t sure what I would write about this but I was led to my book by Kyle Idleman, Not a Fan and my other book by Lisa Bevere called Girls With Swords. On day 11 Kyle is speaking about a minister who began to have doubts about what he believed in. Kyle goes on to say that knowing all the right answers pale in comparison to knowing the one who said,” I am the Truth.” We know Jesus is truth. Then in my book by Lisa Bevere she talks about how important God’s Word is in our lives. That His Word is powerful and it shouldn’t be changed into anything other than what it says because when you do it loses it’s power. It’s the power of God’s Word that renews our minds. God’s Word is truth. When it begins to renew our mind our thoughts change and then our actions. She also said something I love, she said that God’s living Word is the origin of all the powerful transformative truths. Ultimately, the Truth is not a theory to be debated; He is the Word made flesh – Jesus. John 14:6, Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. There is a vast difference between telling the truth and being the truth!

So in the reading today you could take the word truth and replace it with Jesus. Christian search for Jesus, hear Jesus, learn Jesus’ ways, love Jesus, speak of Jesus, hold Jesus in your heart, defend Jesus until death.

Lent to Repent

Day 24

The scripture for today is Hebrews 11:1-13 and it’s talking all about the people in the Old Testament who lived by faith. Naming each one and what they had faith in God for.

Ann says: Today, we will hope and pray for one “impossible” thing because though we may feel overwhelmed- we will not underestimate what God is doing through us and through the world.

This reminds me of something I wrote about here. In the movie Alice in Wonderland, Alice’s father told her to think of 6 impossible things before breakfast. Not just one but six! WITH God all things are possible. It takes faith and belief on our part. Faith is knowing God will do it, then believe. We are in partnership with God to make the impossible happen. Mary was willing to accept what the angel told her without question. She did ask how is this possible since she was a virgin but the angel told her how it would happen. The way he explained it to her, she still could have not believed but she chose to believe. She agreed by saying let it be done to me as you have said. We believe and then we see. That’s faith. I wrote about Mary here

Day 21- Go about doing good as Jesus did.

Day 22- It’s the sin God hates!

Day 23- True beauty comes from a clean heart that sees God

Day 24- Have faith Jesus is the Truth

Salvation Day

I was reading my daily scripture I get in my email and it read: John 14:20,  On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

For the first time I thought what day is Jesus talking about? You would think He’s talking about His Second Coming. I went to my Bible and read from the beginning of Chapter 14 and I have had a revelation of this scripture. Jesus is talking about your salvation day. In the verse before,19, it says,  Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. The world doesn’t see Jesus. Satan has blinded the world from seeing Jesus. Only when we are made alive in spirit through God’s Holy Spirit do we recognize Jesus. When this happens we then see Jesus as He really is, ALIVE and GLORIOUS! When we are “born again”, what has happened is, is the Truth has been revealed and realized in our hearts.

We then know Jesus is God and they are one and now Jesus lives in me through the Holy Spirit. This is being “born again”. When you realize and “see” Jesus is alive and He is your Savior, you too will live just as He says in the scripture.

I Honor You, Native Americans

Thanksgiving is a sad day for Native Americans. The Friday after Thanksgiving is their day of honor, not some shopping day. I read that Thanksgiving was their Last Supper. What they teach in school is wrong and a mockery. I feel for them, always have, maybe because I have Creek Indian ancestry. I don’t know, maybe it’s just the real love that God represents that I feel. This year for the first time I see what it really stands for and it isn’t an alliance between two types of people, it was a self vain glory of a people who didn’t need to come to America. I just watched Saints and Strangers on National Geographic and the second part is tonight. What I saw is pretty accurate because I did some research after watching it and read two articles by Native Americans and it has brought tears to my eyes. I don’t know why God has opened this up to me or why He is allowing me to feel their pain but I am. I got connected to them about a month ago through some Native American chant music. I researched the Creek Indians because they are the ones my Dad told me we come from. His great grandmother was an Indian from the Creek Nation. Anyway,  the pilgrims were saying they were coming to establish a place where they could worship God freely and escape persecution but look at what they did! They were not representing God, they were representing their own agenda, their own glory and that is a sin. They wanted for themselves. One part in the film Saints and Strangers, the pilgrims said to the Indians, Welcome to our village. When Squanto translated this to one of the Chiefs the chief said how can they welcome us to our own land. I thought that was a good line. Just shows how the pilgrims assumed ownership from the start and none of it belonged to them in the first place. It showed how they left everything to come here even their children. No land would draw me away from what I already have, what God has already provided. I especially would not leave my children. I find it hard to believe they came in the name of God. It was in themselves that they came. Isn’t this the same attitude today? They wanted MORE! When will we learn that MORE is never enough! Today these descendants are still looking for more of what they think they need or don’t have when actually everything they need was provided already. God is all we need or should want. He should be FIRST. Even though Native Americans didn’t know Christ, they honored God and the earth that God provided. Maybe the pilgrims could have come with the thought of revealing Christ to these people instead of driving them to extinction. They didn’t show love to them as God would have intended. They became greedy and when greed sets in the heart nothing stops evil from penetrating and destroying life.

I honor all Native Americans this day, I stand with you in the taking of your land. We can’t undo what has been done but know that there is one person who sees and realizes the truth about what happened and I will never forget. You are not forgotten.

Here is the two links to the articles I read that speak the truth.

I will not say I celebrate Thanksgiving, but that I have a dinner honoring the Native Americans, that they gave and shared when they could have killed. They are the true representation of Jesus. They had compassion and love and we slaughtered them in return, how is that Christ-like? I urge you all to watch the show tonight on National Geographic and get enlightened to the truth!

Seek Jesus And You Seek Wisdom

In Chronicles 9 Queen Sheba visited King Solomon and she experienced his wisdom. She had HEARD of his wisdom and didn’t believe it until  she went to see him and experienced it for herself. There is a similarity to her seeking King Solomon and us seeking Jesus. Do we really want to seek Jesus, experience Him for ourselves or do we want to let someone else lead and guide us through so called church? I choose to seek Jesus for myself. Know the truth from my own experiences with Him. We can only KNOW something through experience. In Proverbs 9:10 it says worship and reverence for God is the chief and choice part [ the beginning ] of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding. First we have to have a respect for God and a heart that worships Him before we can receive His wisdom. To have a heart for worship means we have to be born again. The Bible says we can only worship in spirit and in truth, so if we aren’t born again of His Spirit we can not worship Him. We are dead in our sins until we are made alive by God’s power.  Chronicles 9:23  says God put wisdom in Solomon’s mind. I like what Joyce Meyer says in my Bible in putting the Word to work, she said, God-given wisdom is far more valuable than wealth.

I came across a native american proverb the other day that makes a lot of good sense.

I believe the native american had life right. They lived off the land worshiped and reverenced God, protected the planet and loved others. After all that’s how we got Thanksgiving. But the white man ruined everything. Not so wise. The native american was wise. White man is all about money and wealth and statue. Native americans just wanted to enjoy the life they had with what God provided because that was enough. Jesus is enough. God has given us everything we need but Satan wants us to think we need more worldly things to fulfill us. It’s the presence of God and His wisdom that will fill us. When we experience it we will see that this is what we have been longing for all along. I  have native american heritage on my dad’s side and I don’t know if that’s why I am drawn to native americans. But even as a child watching those old cowboy movies I always rooted for the native americans. I have a need lately to listen to their music and chant. It connects me with God in a deeper more intimate way than the christian music today. I believe I’m on a journey from surface relationship with God to a deeper one.

Second Chronicles 15: 1-4, The Spirit of God came on Azariah son of Oded. He went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. For a long time Israel was without the true God, without a priest to teach and without the law. But in their distress they turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them.

If I seek God (Jesus) as craving for Him, I will find Him but if I become indifferent and forsake Him, He will forsake me. The Lord is with me while I am with Him. So when I am feeling alone and like God isn’t there, it is me forsaking Him.

KEEP SEEKING JESUS, NOT WEALTH!

A Story To Make You Believe In God

maxresdefault

The Life of Pi is a movie about a boy’s journey to God. Now I know there are movie summaries out there stating things about the animals representing people and that’s exactly my point. They weren’t people! The movie is trying to get us to see the impossible! The investigators at the end make Pi tell a story that isn’t true, one that’s believable they say. This is the kind of synopsis it got in real life too! Just as the movie states, religion is darkness.

When Pi was a boy he stumbled into a church and saw Jesus on the cross. I think it was a priest who explained Jesus to Pi. His response was, what kind of love is that? Meaning who would love someone so much to die for them?

Then Pi is older and he finds himself in a bad storm on an ocean liner with his family. They all perish but Pi survives along with these animals in the life boat. It ends up just being Pi and the tiger though. While he is out at sea floating around in the ocean with this tiger, he learns something. Tending to the tiger gives him meaning and purpose. Shade becomes his greatest joy. He experienced God out there. God gave him provision with flying fish! He found an island that gave him some relief from the ocean but it was made known to him to get back out there if he wanted to be found.

When they hit land the tiger disappears into the jungle and is gone forever. Pi is just lying on the beach and watches the tiger disappear in the jungle. He feels sadness because him and the tiger had an experience together. They survived. He was connected to the tiger and now he was gone. All too soon though he is found by some people and taken to the hospital. I won’t go into detail about the movie itself, all the wonders and miracles because I don’t want to spoil it so I’m going to get to the main reason I’m writing about it.

What the Holy Spirit showed me through this movie is the stories in the Bible are viewed in the same way. They get tagged as being a metaphor for something when actually they are true and real! It seems unbelievable but it’s true! In the movie these investigators come to visit Pi in the hospital and they want the story of what happened to him. Pi tells them what actually happened, just as we see it in the film. Well, Pi’s version doesn’t line up with their reality. They wanted to hear THEIR TRUTH, not THE TRUTH. They thought Pi was crazy! Isn’t that how we are looked at, those who believe in the supernatural? They wanted a simple believable story without things they haven’t seen before. They asked Pi for the truth. Pi already told the truth but he then had to make up a story! So that they wouldn’t look like fools, they said! Pi had told the truth about the tiger, but they wanted a story THEY could believe, not the TRUTH!

This movie was a journey with God for this boy. He experienced God and no one would believe him. Has this happened to you? What happens to me is, I experience God and it seems like it doesn’t register with the other person. That’s because it has to be YOUR experience!

So it is with the Bible. The stories in the Bible seem “far fetched” and “out there” but that doesn’t make them false. God is bigger than us. His ways are higher than our ways as it says in the Bible! At the end of the movie we are asked to choose which story do we want to believe (prefer)?

I choose to believe the far fetched story! It’s miraculous and amazing! The amazing story is the TRUTH because God is amazing, He is everything wonderful! This story is like the ones in the Bible, they are unbelievable and yet they are true because God does do the impossible! He is God! Believe it! Why believe the ordinary and what makes sense to our natural minds when you can live above this world in the extraordinary, where God is! I choose to live above, put my thoughts on things above and unseen to be able to experience God, on earth! Your Kingdom Come to earth as it is in heaven! We can experience it here if we just open our minds and hearts and allow ourselves to be with Him! He is all around us, waiting for US to acknowledge HIM.

Just because we can’t figure it out by our natural mind doesn’t mean it isn’t there or true. God is there whether you believe it or not. I choose to believe! I know He is real because like Pi, I have experienced Him for myself. If you question the Bible or God, start searching to experience God. Mere knowledge does not compare to being filled with His Spirit and knowing by experience that He is God. Ephesians 3:19, and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself].

In the Bible it says when you search for Him like lost treasure, He will be found by you. Remember a pure heart sees God!

A little side note: At the time I watched this movie I had a blog called My Kaleidoscope is Jesus. At the end of the movie during the credits there were kaleidoscope images. I took this as a sign and when I told my husband my interpretation of the movie I felt God’s presence and began to cry. God wants us to know He is REAL and the Bible is CREDIBLE!
