Lent Week 7 Day 38

Galatians 2:20,  I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

When we are born again our old self is crucified and we no longer live as before but we live with Jesus inside of us, guiding us. We live trusting in Jesus who loves us and gave Himself up for us. This verse makes me want to continuously thank Jesus for what He did. I want to thank God for salvation and for His love. I need to let myself be guided by the Holy Spirit daily. Trust Him! Thank you for salvation and for Jesus and thank you for loving me even when I was far from You.

Lent to Repent

Day 38

Scripture reading for today is Matthew 4:8-10 and its where Jesus is being tempted by Satan to bow down to him and he will give him the kingdoms of the world. Jesus said, “You must worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.”

Ann says: Today I will thank Christ, adore Christ, bless Christ with my worship because worship is giving back to God what He’s breathed into us.

This temptation of Satan is one that he still does to us today. With all the worldly things out there to distract us and attract us away from wanting to know God and spend time with Him. It brings to mind the scripture about the seed falling where it gets choked out. The Word gets planted but the world prevents it from growing. Matthew 13:22,  And the one on whom seed was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the worries and distractions of the world and the deceitfulness [the superficial pleasures and delight] of riches choke the word, and it yields no fruit. This is what Satan tries to do to us once we are born again. He doesn’t want us to live out our salvation so he distracts us from it and attracts our flesh to worldly things. This prevents God’s Word from taking effect in our lives. We have to fight against this with the same scripture Jesus used. We MUST worship God and serve Him ONLY.

Lent Week 4 Day 20

In my reading today in the Mosaic Bible she is talking about really being saved or just having an intellectual belief. There is a difference between just saying the prayer and really being made alive in spirit through God’s grace. I know the difference because I have experienced it. I am learning through this Lent devotion that Christianity is about experiencing God and not just having knowledge of Him. I said the salvation prayer probably 3 times in my life that I remember but my life didn’t change in any drastic way. My Self was still the same. I still couldn’t understand the Bible. But when I had my salvation experience in August 2010 it changed everything. I had already known before this day that the old me was dead. I saw myself in my minds eye walking around my house with the old attitudes and I had a knowing “she is dead.” I experienced this myself and no one can take it from me. My salvation, my true salvation was at my kitchen table watching The Gospel of John some days after knowing the old me was dead. This was when I felt the presence of Jesus and He made known to me that He is ALIVE and REAL. He revealed to me that He knows me and poured His love into me. I felt that unconditional love and couldn’t help but say ” I love you” back. This is something hard to explain to the natural mind but its like another reality opens up to you and you see the Truth in your mind. This is the difference between saying a prayer and experiencing Jesus.

Lent to Repent Day 20

The scripture 1 Corinthians 9:19-27 is talking about running this race of faith. Paul is saying how he conforms to the people he is trying to convert while still being true to Christ. He wants to win his eternal prize. He was doing what he was called to do, not for earthly gain but for eternal gain.

Ann says: Repent of wanting to be called christian but not wanting to pay the price.

This is the part of salvation that is hard for people to get to the point of doing. It’s easy to receive salvation but hard to live it out day by day. When I first started I had satan say to me: ” Do you really think you can keep this up?” He tried to put doubt in me. It was a bumpy ride going to and fro in the beginning but I am maturing now in my faith and becoming more stable. The reason for this, is the dream I had about Jesus. Here is the link to my dream. After waking up He told me not to run away again. I have been faithful to stay and see where God leads me. I am so thankful that I listened and obeyed. God has shown me so much these past 4 months and I am a better person because of obeying His call. Luke 1:46-49,  And Mary said,“My soul magnifies the Lord,47     and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. I feel the same as Mary. The Holy Spirit doesn’t give up on us. He is with us through it all and everything is happening the way it’s suppose to.

Day 1- Get your thinking straight and be in God’s presence

Day 2- Be reading the Bible and trust God

Day 3- Reverence, worship and praise God and Jesus for who God is and what Jesus has done.

Day 4- Be faithful to Him and He will be faithful to fill you. Look to Jesus with gratitude and prayer.

Day 5- Notice the miserable and suffering, ask God to reveal them so I can tell them the Good News that there is hope and there is a Savior, His name is Jesus!

Day 6- Stay close to God with a repented heart. He will bring life out of the mundane if I trust Him to do it.

Day 7- Relationship means dependence. Depend on your relationship with Jesus to do God’s will and bring Him joy and joy to yourself.

Day 8- Don’t hesitate to ask God for help out of all temptations, trials, distresses and troubles. Keep God on your mind, always.

Day 9- Being thankful and having faith for the presence of God in my life will prompt miracles.

Day 10- Let my heart stay vulnerable so God can multiply His love through me.

Day 11- God helps us through the words of Jesus.

Day 12- Surrender and live a new life

Day 13- Receive and give thanks for God’s grace and live holy

Day 14- Remember grace through Jesus to stay awake

Day 15- Pray for the Holy Spirit’s presence to stay out of darkness, repent when necessary

Day 16- Praise, Honor and Glorify God and Jesus and wait to see what He does!

Day 17- The time is Now, receive Jesus today and go tell the world!

Day 18- Focus on Jesus and He will change you from the inside out

Day 19- Get free from sin through Jesus and make your time count!

Day 20- No one said salvation is easy, but it IS worth it.

Lent Week 3 Day 16

Psalm 34:3, O magnify the Lord with me,
And let us lift up His name together.

Let’s praise God and honor Him. Speak of all the ways God is good and holy. And even though we are sinful God made a way for us to fellowship through Jesus. We should be praising and raising His name up everyday, everywhere. God, help me remember everyday Your grace toward me. Help me share with others the wonderous things you are doing in my life.

Trail to the Tree

Day 16 Waiting

The scripture is about when Jesus was buried in a borrowed tomb and the two Mary’s were waiting outside the tomb.

Ann says: Today, wait. Sit at the tomb and wait on the Lord. Trust when all is dark. Believe when the stone is rolled in and sealed. Carry a stone in your pocket and remember: there is hope. Wait and have faith in the coming Resurrection, glorious light erupting on black horizon.

When our sins are ever before us, meaning when we come to realize we are sinners then we find ourselves waiting to see what will happen next. Where do we go from here? We need God to rescue us. I experienced this but at the time I didn’t realize what was happening. Before my salvation experience I was aware of my sinfulness and I knew I didn’t deserve anything that I had. I thanked God for everything and this was the beginning of my salvation. It was over a period of a month or two that this happened. I was led to read the Bible and then had an urge to know more about Jesus. I watched The Gospel of John and realized Jesus was choosing me to follow Him. I repented and asked for forgiveness and fell in love with Him. He made His presence known to me in this moment. I had new life! Salvation isn’t something we can “make” happen, it’s the power of the Holy Spirit that raises us from “the dead” in spirit to new life. The same power that raised Jesus is the same power that raises us. When things look dark just wait and the light will come bursting through!

Salvation Day

I was reading my daily scripture I get in my email and it read: John 14:20,  On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

For the first time I thought what day is Jesus talking about? You would think He’s talking about His Second Coming. I went to my Bible and read from the beginning of Chapter 14 and I have had a revelation of this scripture. Jesus is talking about your salvation day. In the verse before,19, it says,  Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. The world doesn’t see Jesus. Satan has blinded the world from seeing Jesus. Only when we are made alive in spirit through God’s Holy Spirit do we recognize Jesus. When this happens we then see Jesus as He really is, ALIVE and GLORIOUS! When we are “born again”, what has happened is, is the Truth has been revealed and realized in our hearts.

We then know Jesus is God and they are one and now Jesus lives in me through the Holy Spirit. This is being “born again”. When you realize and “see” Jesus is alive and He is your Savior, you too will live just as He says in the scripture.

My Salvation Story Backed By Scripture

This is my  story of how I was found by Jesus. It’s been five years ago, but I want to say I was brought up Catholic and I said the salvation prayer when I was in 9th grade at a friends church that was Baptist. I believe God had His hand on me all along but I just didn’t know it. Like some of you that may be reading this, I was lost, but God sees us even when we don’t see Him. It is God who draws us to Himself.  Even when we are singing the songs, going to church and think we are serving God, we are absent from His true presence until our heart is changed. It’s our heart that God looks at. What our motives are. Even though I thought I was with God, in reality I wasn’t.

Five years ago I was in a dark place in my mind. At the time I knew it was Hell. I wrote a prayer in my journal that said, “I pray that God can show me the way out of this long dark tunnel. I have had glimmers of light but they soon fade away as fast as they came. How can I make it stay? I’m asking you, God,  to please show me the way.”  This prayer was in March 2007. It wasn’t until August 2010 that I had an encounter with Jesus. When He became REAL to me and began my eternal life with Him. Psalm 40:2-3, He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
    out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.

I was sidetracked with all the new age spirituality stuff that’s out there. One book in particular was Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsh. I actually believed I received salvation after reading this book. I learned that new age spirituality really isn’t “new”, it’s Satan’s old ways of deceiving us to get us into Hell. In these types of books they get you to think that it’s your own truth that gets you to Heaven. It’s a lie that is so far from the REAL TRUTH! In this book I was made to believe that there is no such thing as sin. Kinda like when Eve was convinced to eat of the tree God said not to. Sin is what separates us from God because He is holy.  Sin is missing the mark, which means doing things our way instead of God’s way. I was living in sin and Satan had me fooled into thinking that it didn’t exist. That is the big lie Satan is telling us today, that he doesn’t exist. When he has you in that place of denial then he can do his dirty work.

That’s what he did to me, I ended up away from my family, paralyzed in my thinking, confused and all I saw for the future was blackness. I stayed there for 3 months. In this state of being I felt the most lonely I ever felt in my life. I had no hope and didn’t know what was going to happen. Proverbs 14:1, The wise woman builds her house,
but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.  One day I had a change in my heart towards my husband after he had prayed for me. I knew I was going back home but I told people ,” I am back because of God.” As it says in Jeremiah 29:14, I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.[a] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”  I saw the old me , the old mindset, walking around the house and I had a knowing, she is dead. II Corinthians 5:17, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!

My husband even told me I had been touched by God. He could see it in me. So, I began reading the Bible.  A Bible my sister gave me years before called The Everyday Bible with Joyce Meyer. She has confessions in this Bible to say over your life. I started doing it. One day I felt in my heart that I was believing what it said for my own life. Proverbs 14:9, Fools mock at making amends for sin,
but goodwill is found among the upright. I felt Satan say to me,” Do you really think you can keep this up?” I ignored it and kept going. 1 Peter 5:8, Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. I realized the Bible was written for Me. Deuteronomy 8:3 says,  He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Soon I had an urgency to know about Jesus. Isaiah 1:18, Come now, let us settle the matter,”
    says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
    they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool. I watched Jesus of Nazareth and found out that He rose from the dead and appeared to 500 people and the disciples. I never knew that. And that He ascended into Heaven, which means He is ALIVE! John 10:10, The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. Then my sister told me to watch The Gospel of John.  As Jesus talked to the disciples about following Him, I felt like He was talking to me personally. I even said out loud,” What do I do, how do I follow You?” Then it came to the part where Jesus says,” You didn’t choose me, I chose you.” I was blown away because of what I had been saying, that God brought me home, not me. So, in this moment I knew Jesus was talking to me personally and I felt His presence in the room. I had tears streaming down my face and for the first time in my life, I raised my hands to Him and said,” I love you, Jesus! Please forgive me, I’m sorry, sorry for my sin that put You on the cross. It became real to me that He did it for me.  God requires sacrifice for sin. That’s why Jesus came. God is just and holy. We can’t be with God without being cleansed of sin. He sent Jesus to be the sacrifice for our sin, if we will just believe it and receive it in our heart. This is what I did in this moment. I suddenly saw that obeying God is not out of duty, it’s because you love Him! I love Jesus and can’t thank Him enough for what He did on the cross. He invites EVERYONE to come. Follow Him. Revelation 3:20,

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

Without Him we would all be in darkness and never have eternal life. But it’s a choice, God gives us free will. He comes after us but it’s our choice to follow. Will you choose Him today? We are never satisfied until we encounter Jesus. He said, ” I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by  (through) Me.” John 14:6

My prayer for you is in Ephesians 3:19, and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself].

True salvation is Ephesians 2:8, For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; AND Matthew 16:16-17,  Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed), the Son of the living God.” 17 Then Jesus answered him, “Blessed [happy, spiritually secure, favored by God] are you, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood (mortal man) did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

Salvation is a free gift from God you receive through faith. It is His working of the Holy Spirit in you that brings you to life. No person on earth can do this except Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to us and we choose to receive Him.

My plea to God, Psalms 40:10, I have not concealed Your righteousness within my heart;
I have proclaimed Your faithfulness and Your salvation.
I have not concealed Your loving kindness and Your truth from the great assembly.

Will There Be A Second Chance For Salvation After Death?

The teaching that there will be another chance is a false teaching. I know there are people who are teaching this lie and others who are believing this lie and that’s why  I am posting the answer to this question from http://www.gotquestions.org/second-chance-salvation.html . This is sound biblical teaching to show that we only have this life to choose. It’s a choice and the ones who don’t choose now will not choose in the afterlife either. It’s because it’s a HEART CHOICE. You either choose the world or God. God does everything possible to draw us to repentance, offering forgiveness and second chances (2 Peter 3:9). But if we continue to reject Him, the offer is withdrawn and, at death, there are no more chances (Hebrews 9:27). It’s that’s simple. Remember in the last days  that Satan will disguise himself as light. Second  Corinthians 11:14-15, And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.  Here is the answer:

Question: “Will there be a second chance for salvation after death?”

Answer: While the idea of a second chance for salvation is appealing, the Bible is clear that death is the end of all chances. Hebrews 9:27 tells us that we die, and then face judgment. So, as long as a person is alive, he has a second, third, fourth, fifth, etc. chance to accept Christ and be saved (John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31). Once a person dies, there are no more chances. The idea of purgatory, a place where people go after death to pay for their sins, has no biblical basis, but is rather a tradition of the Roman Catholic Church.

To understand what happens to nonbelievers after they die, we go to Revelation 20:11-15 which describes the Great White Throne judgment. Here takes place the opening of the books and “the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” The books contain all the thoughts and deeds of those being judged, and we know from Romans 3:20 that “by the works of the Law is no flesh justified.” Therefore, all who are judged by their works and thoughts are condemned to hell. Believers in Christ, on the other hand, are not judged by the books of works, but their names are found written in another book—the “Lamb’s Book of Life” (Revelation 21:27). These are the ones who have believed on the Lord Jesus, and they alone will be allowed to enter heaven.

The key to understanding this is the Lamb’s Book of Life. Anyone whose name is written in this book was “saved before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 1:4) by God’s sovereign saving grace to be part of His Son’s bride, the church of Jesus Christ. These people need no “second chance” at salvation because their salvation has been secured by Christ. He chose us, He saved us, and He will keep us saved. Nothing can separate us from Christ (Romans 8:39). Those for whom He died will be saved because Jesus will see to it. He declared “all that the Father has given me will come to me” (John 6:37), and “I give to them eternal life, and they shall never ever perish, and not anyone shall pluck them out of My hand” (John 10:28). For believers, there is no need for a second chance because the first chance is sufficient.

What about those who do not believe? Wouldn’t they repent and believe if they were given a second chance? The answer is no, they would not because their hearts are not changed simply because they die. Their hearts and minds “are at enmity” against God and won’t accept Him even when they see Him face to face. This is evidenced clearly in the story of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31. If ever someone should have repented when given a second chance to see clearly the truth, it was the rich man. But although he was in torment in hell, he only asked that Abraham send Lazarus back to earth to warn his brothers so they didn’t have to suffer the same fate. There was no repentance in his heart, only regret for where he found himself. Abraham’s answer says it all: “And he said to him, If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded, even though one rose from the dead” (Luke 16:31). Here we see that the witness of the Scriptures is sufficient for salvation for those who believe it, and no other revelation will bring about salvation to those who do not. No second, third or fourth chances would be enough to turn the heart of stone into a heart of flesh.

Philippians 2:10-11 declares “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” One day, everyone will bow before Jesus and recognize that He is the Lord and Savior. At that point, though, it is too late for salvation. After death, all that remains for the unbeliever is judgment (Revelation 20:14-15). That is why we must trust in Him in this life.

I would like to add that yes God is love and goodness but real love disciplines. As a parent we don’t just let our kids go and do as they please, we know there are consequences to that and they will get hurt. God disciplines us because He Loves Us.  A loving God doesn’t want us to perish that’s why He sent Jesus. We are on the road to perish the day we are born. Jesus came to rescue us! God doesn’t send any one to hell, it’s their CHOICE. They are either living for God or the world.  Again all credit for the answer to Got Questions.org

A Birthday Card From Jesus through My Husband

My husband wrote this for me or should I say Jesus used my husband as a vessel to write this to me on my 44th birthday four years ago. It is very special to me and every time I have read it, it means something new to me. The latest meaning I have gotten is he’s talking about my spiritual rebirth.  I am sharing it because I thought it was awesome!

A special birthday to you on your very important day,

For it has taken you a journey of forty-four years to finally find your way.

I gave your mother on a day long ago, a little baby girl, a soul to keep.

As I have watched over you all these years as you were asleep.

You opened your eyes on that fourteenth day of December,

I , myself, witnessed your life start as I , your Lord, can only remember.

I breathed life into your body and watched you begin your life from my throne high above,

While the glorious news of your coming spread throughout my kingdom on the wings of a white dove.

My spiritual armour a little baby girl laid adorn,

For your circle of destiny began the second that you were born.

I gave you as birthday gifts that Summer day… a belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, two sandals of peace, a helmet of salvation, a sword of my word and your faith in a shield,

So that one day you and I would walk side by side in an endless beautiful flowered poppy field.

I whispered into your small ear, that I Jesus, I AM, I AM the father you now know.

I said unto you,” I am your shelter in any storm,”

I have held your hand throughout the years and have been a witness in watching your life transform.

A baby boy named Jesus was also born during a clear night beneath a glowing star,

I was born alone in a manger so you could forever feel my love from great distances afar.

I was born to Joseph and my mother Mary that miraculous night,

So that one day you would be strong enough and live your life with all the power of My might.

Child you were lost at one time, but now you are found,

You in return will be rewarded by standing beside Me, while I wear my golden crown.

For I once was made to wear a crown made of thorn,

So an innocent baby such as you would one day be born.

You were once blind, but now can see. For your name Regina is now being recorded in the Book of Life.

Because you continue to fulfill your God given roles bestowed onto you as a daughter, friend, mother and wife.

I give you today another Happy Birthday, with all My grace,

For in My heaven I have reserved for you a deserved space.

I have chosen you to live in Me and Me live in you, so that one day we will meet

face to face right inside of My heaven’s pearly gate.

And that is where I promise you to be and with my open arms I will await.

Because of being baptized under water on that November night, you have not only been born once to your mother, but born again twice,

I hung on a rugged cross to pay your salvation’s price.

You were born not alone with your father and mother, as I gave them a daughter,

Just as you were not alone as you were lowered beneath the cleansing water.

While shepherd’s came out of their lands to eyewitness my birth and left their hungry sheep grazing,

I , your Lord, came to your side at your birth to see my new creation and the site to behold was amazing.

On your birthday today I thank you for being you and spreading God’s Word,

That many you meet will now be enlightened, renewed and stirred.

You are a child of God, so live a long happy life!

Be an example in your life’s walk,

In return, I will provide and inspire you with My words of wisdom  within your daily talk.

My Jesus Knows Me by Regina Gibson

I was at my table when you told me your able,
to forgive and forget all my shames.
But not only that, you said you know me and love me,
in spite of these blames.
You made it known to me,
that it’s You and I for eternity.
I am overwhelmed by your presence and gifts.
I cry out to You, Jesus I love you, I love you!
What can I do to show my love?
You respond, “Be my disciple and follow me.”
Here I am speaking for Jesus,
in hopes of saving the lost and defeated.
There is hope.
There is future.
There is love.
It’s all found in Him…..

I woke up one morning with the word collide on my mind. This was the spelling I imagined, but I felt God say no, spell it like in the word kaleidoscope. I became very curious about the word kaleidoscope and  was led to look it up. The word kalos in greek means beautiful. Edios means form and scope means to see. As we know a kaleidoscope is a cylinder with mirrors containing loose objects [bits of glass]. When light enters, it creates a colorful pattern due to the reflection of the mirrors.

Here is the analogy that came to me after doing this research. We are the bits of glass, Jesus is our mirror and God is the light. When we are born again, God’s light shines in on the broken pieces of ourselves. As we take on Jesus’ sinless state by believing in Him, and taking off our sinful state, Jesus becomes our mirror. God calls us to become like Jesus, so we mirror ourselves after Him. When we do this, God doesn’t see us in our sinful state any longer. Now then God sees us as Jesus, the beautiful form to see [kaleidoscope]! Just as the pattern in the kaleidoscope is moving and changing, so are we, growing and maturing. Our goal is to keep reflecting Jesus and God says it’s beautiful as Jesus is beautiful! We are beautiful in the eyes of God!
